RAYNER's who settled in CA in 1850+....

Still looking for any data on g grandfather and bros who came from Eng to US looking for gold ca.1850.

They probably stopped in Port in Eastern US before going on. Two RAYNER bros were said to have settled in Canada, whether they did from the Eastern US or after all 4 went to CA and then 2 moved North from there to Canada, i dont know. I also heard there were 6 bros, and only 4 went on ship around the Horn, so this is possible...

My husbands line is through J.L.RAYNER and Jonathan Lambert RAYNER who came from Eng and went around the Horn in ship to San Francisco CA and this RAYNER line remained in CA., mostly in Sonoma Co, a ranch in N Carlsbad, San Diego Co, and Shasta Co.

***Jonathan RAYNER d. 16 Dec 1932 and was supposedly buried in Oceanview Cemetery, Oceanside, CA, but i still need to find record of this.***(this would help a lot)

Family hearsay said they were RAINER in Germany before family line came to England and they changed to RAYNER.

Any data is welcome. Happy trails, J
