If you are researching the ROSE FAMILY that has any connection to LOUIS ROSE (1807-1888), you may want to click on the below listed link to see a document that shows transfer of land between the city of San Diego and LOUIS ROSE.

LOUIS had 2 wives, CAROLINE MARX & MATILDA (married name NEWMAN). He had no children with CAROLINE MARX but he had 2 daughters with MATILDA. First daughter was HELENE (1870-1872) and second daughter was HENRIETTA "HATTIE" (1873-1957). HENRIETTA was a school teacher in SAN DIEGO her entire life and she never married.
