Just had a thought! Before POP was, think it was called "The PIKE". Many young people, sailors off the ships, that used to dock in the bay, would troll for "Chicks", etc. Had a roller coaster that went way out over the water.

Closed it down, because it was old, and afraid people would drown, and sue them "Silly", etc. Then had like swaying covered tea cups, also. So much lost for nothing.

Then it was POP, an ocean oriented theme park. Really fun, but was more for the under 15 crowd. Probably why it bit the "Dust".

Just another thought too. Also in that same time frame, I believe, that Disneyland opened in Anaheim, Ca. Then Knott's Berry Farm, whichever came before Disneyland. So it was all just a matter of time, till one and all went under the bull dozer's for apartments and Condos.
