Info desired on Melvin Perry, the artist from Ohio or Missouri, later California

Would like to speak to any relative of Melvin Perry, who formerly lived in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. Melvin was an artist and did a sketch of Jesus Christ on the cross at the jail in St. Louis, Missouri. Melvin was not a prisoner; he only asked that he could spend the night to get out of the cold. The sketch was completed, except for one hand. The article about this was in a Sunday Supplement along with a photo of the sketch since no one there could figure out the medium he used. He wrote back from where he was currently living in Loma Linda, California saying that he used the heel of his shoe. This was about 1974-1977. Anyone with any information, please get in touch. Thanks!
