Do you know anything re: my grandfather? James McDowell worked for Alex B. Grogan ca 1873-1882. He was a farmer living in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California on April 24, 1888 when he registered to vote. He stated he was from Ireland and 34 years old at the time. He died at the home of Alex McCune in Holister, San Benito County, California August 12, 1893 leaving a wife and six children. His family was residing in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California at the time. I'm stumped. Any information on James McDowell would be greatly appreciated. WEMcD
