As a hobby, I rescue old photos that have identification on them. I obtained one from an auction, of a little girl. Her hair is curled in pipe curles down the front of her shoulders and her hair is brown. She's about 5 years old and identified as Helen Whitney PIERCE. I don't know if WHITNEY is her maiden name, or her given middle name. I will post this also on the WHITNEY message board.
The photo was taken in Sacramento, California. It appears to be late 1800s, early 1900s. It's a sepia (the browns) tone photo.
