LIST of the DROWNED -- From the newspapers and all other sources of information of which we
could avail ourselves, we have collected the following list of persons drowned by the deluge
of the present month. The total number is *46*. But, doubtless, when our interior exchanges come
to hand it will be largely increased:
ROBBINS, Thomas, at Knight’s Ferry, on the 10th
DEERING, Edward, at Jacksonville, Tuolumne, on the 10th
20 Chinese at Jacksonville, on the 10th
PROCTOR, John, at Two-Mile Bar, on the Stanislaus, on the 10th
5 dead bodies found in the American river at Norris’ bridge, on the 13th
KELLEY, Judge, a negro boot-black, at Sacramento city, on the 11th
WELTEY, J.B., on the Sacramento river, on the 11th
A Chinaman, near Sutterville, on the 15th
5 Chinamen, at Uniontown, El Dorado county, on the 10th
MARSHALL, Buell; LARNEARD, Henry; JOHNSON, Geo. A., killed by a snow-slide caused by the heavy rains at Excelsior Hill, Sierra county, on the 8th
CLEVELAND, Calvin, crushed by a tunnel cave at Nevada, caused by heavy rains on the 11th
A sailor at Half-Moon Bay, on the 11th
CARR, Mrs., and a hired man, 14 miles east of Sacramento city, on the 10th
A Frenchman, at Sacramento city, on the 11th
A woman and 2 children, at Dayton, N.T., on the 11th
DONOVAN, Michael, at Islais creek, on San Jose road, on the 17th
