Danish Brotherhood -- How to Track Down Member's Information
Posted by: Barbara Collin (ID *****5534) Date: February 07, 2006 at 14:34:08

Does anyone know how to track down information from the records that might have been kept for the Danish Brotherhood?

I'm hoping this might include a hometown or even a county. I'm trying to find a birthplace for Christian Jensen, born September 9, 1866 in Denmark, died September 23, 1951 in Sacramento. He'd changed his name to "Johnson," after emigrating to America in the 1880s. His wife's name was Ingeborg C. Larsen, born in Denmark April 28, 1874, and died in Sacramento July 24, 1965. She arrived in America in 1880.

Searching the Danish sites has been a study in futility. There are no end to the "Christian Jensens" -- and they all seem to have left for America about the same time. A needle in a haystack would be a piece of cake by comparison. (Their published obituaries just listed "Denmark.")

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
