I actually live in the town of Courtland and my family has been in the area since 1869. It is a fairly small town (about six blocks) and hasn't grown much since the early 1900's. Rolston is not a name that is familiar around here but Runyon certainly is. The Runyons were huge fruit growers in the late 1800's and early 1900's and one ranch still remains in the family. Who were Mariah's parents? That might make the search easier. One of the original Runyons had 22 children! All the Runyons came from Illinois. Give me as much information as you can about Mariah, and then I'll check with the local historical society for Rolston.
