Thelma Lou TITTLE (b. 22 Dec 1907 in Clark Co., OH), an adopted dau. of Clayton D. TITTLE and his wife, Rosa E. BUCKELS, died in Riverside Co., CA on 1 Aug 1991. She was the widow of Franklin YOUNG.
Franklin YOUNG [full name Benjamin Franklin YOUNG, Jr.] (b. 14 Dec 1893, St. Joseph, MO to Benj. F. YOUNG & May Gertrude SNELL) was a U. S. Naval Aviator in France during World War I. After the war he was involved in the development of carrier aviation with Hanriot HD-1s brought back from France. In 1928 he went with Trans World Airways and retired to Tucson, AZ in 1951. He died there in 1975. His obituary named survivors Thelma Lou, granddaughters Lori YOUNG of Calif., Terri YOUNG of Vermont and great granddaughter Tamica YOUNG of Calif.
Thelma Lou remained in Tucson, AZ through 1977 and then moved, presumedly to Riverside Co., CA to be near family. Franklin YOUNG is buried in Tucson and there is a burial plot for Thelma Lou beside him but she was not returned for burial there.
I am a WW I aviation enthusiast who met Franklin YOUNG in Kansas City, MO in the early 1970s. I am researching his life and career and welcome all help locating his descendants. An obituary from a local paper might be a great help.
