I show the INYO Independence is available on microfilm at the CA Room of the state library in Sacramento. If you live in CA you could ask at your local library to borrow the film and read it there if they have an INTER-Library loan agreement with the State Library. If not, you could post this information to the CA-DEATH-INDEX-L@rootsweb.com mailing list - there is a volunteer on the list that will do obit lookups at the CA room.
