Likewise ROOP, ELLIOTT & Co. Each party numbers from 100 to 150 men. A few shots were exchanged on yesterday. Some half dozen wounded. The Sheriff has sent back after more force. The Deputy Sheriff is now out summoning the county to go over. The insurgents are said to be reinforced from the Territory. All very defiant. The stores in Susanville are all closed, and forbidden to furnish supplies to the Plumas posse. So says a courier just arrived. WHITING Notify Administrator about this message?
