Hi Shoni,

This is great info! Johnnie S is possibly Owen and Jane's 1st born. I have an unknown child but thought it was from Owen's 1st wife Ann. If he was 7 yrs old in 1876 it would be very close to Owen and Jane's marriage date.
1st wife Ann died in 1868. Owen returned to NY, married Mary Jane Davis supposedly NY, and returned to CA Dec. 20th 1870. It would be helpful to find an obit or death cert for Johnnie and Ann. Nobody seems to know just when or where she was buried. I've found mention of her as Ann and/or Lizzie Jones. Which could be Ann Elizabeth.

Owen R and John R are ours of course. I have their obits which I sent to you. Did you get the Word file I sent?

The remaining 2 could be leads, especially Hugh. 30 yrs old in 1877 puts him born in Wales 1847. This works for my Ellen's date of migration if it's her family. But the bio I have mentions no Hugh T at all. I don't think the 1870 census will tell us when he migrated. So might have to see who his family is from the 1870 instead. That might provide clues.
James T was 83 yrs when he died in 1903. An unlikely candidate for a direct relative but still possible as distant. Hopefully, the census will tell us more about him or his family. His date of birth is before any of our Jones emigrated from Wales.
If we're trying to connect the family members of those in NY the period of immigration is most likely around 1835 to 1850. Any bios on these people or those that fall during this period is worth checking out.

Hope any of this information helps you. And I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you do to help locate our ancestors. I really appreciate it. I'll confirm a date soon when I can come up and help. Looking forward to comparing notes and finally meeting you.
