I am looking into the York Families in Maine, John York (b.Approx. 1723 d.Approx 1771) married to Sarah Strout(Daughter of George Strout and Bridget Cooley) (b.1734-1815) Filed law suit against him for nursing bill in Portland Maine court, then married him by 1748. He was a member of Friends of the Patriots. She was 13 when Had her first Child. They had John JR. 1748, married Abigail Bean (daughter Jonathon Bean (Son of Daniel Bean and Ann Sandborn) and Abigail Gordon( Daughter of unknown) in 1772. They had Peter York (b. 1779) who married Abiah Russell(b.1781) in Approx. 1800. They had Thatcher York(b.1803)married Lidianna Frost(b.1802)They had Edwin True (Sr.)York born(b.1823)married Marcia S. Bartlett (b.1838)Died in Beloit Kansas. Date unknown.Edwin True (Sr.) Died in Hutchinson, Kansas. 1924
Edwin True York left Maine after 1851. His second Marriage was to a much younger woman( he had children in 1851-54 and then again in 1894-1906) that was named Susan who was born in Nebraska in 1865 to parents born in Maine???
Edwin many family members who were members of the Mormons very early movement.
Aaron Mereon York married to Hannah Carter. Sarah York married to William Furlsbury Carter. Marcia Bartlett was related to Patty Bartlett who was married to David Sessions, Joesph Smith and John Parry.
Her son was Perrigine Sessions.
She was in Creek, Far West, Missouri and Nauvoo, Illinois, and Salt Lake City, Utah. AND Arizona. Many were in the Handcart movement.

Edwin True York Jr. Born Mithcell County Kansas Married Mahala Eunice PITTMAN PORTER in California they then moved back to Hutchinson Kansas where they both died. He is buried in Beloit Mitchell Co. Kansas, I believe that she may be also. She was in the Sunshine Home on the outskirts of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. They had a home in Hutchinson. Mahala was married to Ernest Porter who died November 1960 in Hutchinson. If anyone can help on this couple please contact me.
