My greatgrandmother, Mary HALKYARD married James PURDIE/PURDY in the U.K., most likely Lancashire, England. They had 13 children. Children I know about: Malinda (m. BENFIELD), Margaret (m. ALLEN), Mary (Mollie)(m. PRICHARD), Robert and Jacob.

At the time of the 1900 Census in Nevada County, James PURDIE/PURDY was listed, with only 5 of the children still living.
Meanwhile, Mary had remarried William BIGELOW/BIGLOW abt. 1888.

Mary HALKYARD had a sister, Sarah, who married a man by the surname ISAACS or ISACCS.

Any information on this family line, please email me, Geri R. Gilbert, at
