Upon requesting information from my local library, I was able to obtain several books about the Cornish miners and the local mines in Nevada County for .50 each, not even the cost of mailing. This is referred to as inter-library loans and is a very cheap way to learn about the history and people you are interested in.Ask your local library if you are in the US & they will obtain books for you from any US library willing to loan them.
