I just found the death date for Clarinda Brown Mills - of 24 June 1908 in Napa County, CA
Is there anyway to find out if there was an obituary and where she was buried?
Its likely St Helena - but, I have no way to know for sure.
Clarinda Brown Mills was an amazing lady. When 8 years old she traveled with her siblings, parents and grandparents from NY to ILL - they are considered pioneers of La Salle Co, ILL.
She married Christopher Mills in ILL 1843 and came to CA via New Orleans and the Isthmus of Panama to CA in 1856.
She is found on the 1860 census in San Francisco with her husband and children.
1870 census however, finds her back in La Salle Co, ILL in her parents household with her 3 yournger children.
1880 census shows her back in CA, with her son Christopher Jr.
1900 shows her in Napa Co, with a grandaughter living with her.

According to the 1877 La SAlle Co, ILL history Clarinda was a widow by that time.
I am wondering if in fact her husband died between 1860 - and 1870, as I can find no furhter records of him.

Any assistance is most greatly appreciated........
