I have recently learned that my grandfather was imprisoned at San Quentin in 1927. He served at least 3 years, I think. I am wondering if there is a way to get information regarding his case. He was charged and sent from Monterey county.
His name and number at the prison was 44080 – Lewis Choate. He was convicted of assault to commit murder and arrived at the prison on 9-8-1927.
I am interested in any court records or newspaper articles that would pertain to his case. Can anyone tell me how to obtain this info?
