I have now conclusively determined that the "Sutton"s are not the persons referenced as "Father" and "Mother," so the death/burial information does not pertain to them. The persons listed as "Father" and "Mother" I now know to be "William Joseph Percy," a pioneer of Monterey Co., and his wife "Mary (Delany/Delaney) Percy." The Bible was in the possession of their son "Sidney James Percy" at the time of their death, and it is Sidney who added the death/burial information about his father and mother.

I do not know how (or if) the Suttons connect to either the Percy family or the Delany/Delany family.

So I am still searching for clues about "H. Sutton" and his wife "Mary."

Darrin L. Parker, Esq.
