Hi Geneva, here is what you just wrote:
"Carol, you have helped me several times. Would you see if you could find info. on Hoyt H. Rogers who died in San Bernadine Ca. in 1950? He was married to Gladys Goldberg but divorced in 1936. She remained in Florida with their children. His parents were Lubie Rogers and Hattie Rogers. Thanks, Geneva R. Hill"
Geneva, you posted a query in the California forum about Hoyt H. Rogers and Carol Powell posted replies to you. Please revisit the California forum and find your replies and respond to Carol.
Just below your query in the California forum, you'll notice a note from me. It says "Please return to comment in your own thread." I'm begging people to remember where they have posted and return to their own threads voluntarily - because the Genforum notification system is broken. Most likely people will NOT receive notification that someone replied.
It's a bit of a downer for volunteer researchers to work on a project for someone, and then the person never returns to find the information and comment (and maybe, if we're lucky, even say thanks!). The broken notification system makes it hard for everyone to know when and where they've posted - so the likelihood is high that many won't return to their own threads.
That's a heads up for you. Your request to Carol for help with Hoyt, after she already gave you help with Hoyt, is a good example of why Genforum should fix the notification system.
Some of us have the theory that Ancestry, owner of Genforum, is letting the site dwindle in advance of shutting down. A theory.
All good wishes and hope to see you post in the California forum.
