Adam, O'Connor, Thorpe, Lawlor, Winterhalder, Skenott, Sheehy, Porter, Thornburg
My grandfather had two sisters named Mary & Margaret Bradley. They immigrated from Co Donegal Ireland to the Santa Cruz, Santa Clara area of CA.There they married two O'Connor brothers Matthew and Patrick (respectively--Margaret was Patrick's 2nd wife-1st was Sarah Doherty).Patrick had two sons by Sarah James 1874, and Charles 1877, before Sara died prior to 1880 census.
Elizabeth O'Connor who married Willaim L Adam was Matthew and Patricks oldest sister. All were born in Quesbec(Frampton)Canada,While in Canada think family had dropped the O, but resumed using it in CA.
I just read an article that was quite interesting since it was about a meeting held in Santa Maria CA two of the speakers were Dick Adam (in 2009 he was 79 I think) and Jane Adam Drennon, then 70.If anyone knows of them I'd very much like to hear from you/them.We are very distantly related. thru Elizabeths's brothers, wifes.
My grandfather was Patrick Bradley dob May 1864.Mary, Margaret, and Patrick(who stayed in MA & married Mary Ann O'Donnell) may also have had two other sibblings Ellen & James(not sure of this yet). Parents were Bernard Bradley and Mary McGeoghan. .
The article said that Elizabeth and William had 15 children, does anyone know all their names/ dob etc.
Sorry to be so long winded, and hope I have details correct, as I believe I do.Elizabeths father was James O'Connor.
Thank you for any help, feedback etc
Barbara
