I think I have found mom.
Mary CROCKETT 30 widowed! living with her uncle Lucas LOPES ae 38, and his family, 1920 Walsenberg CO, but no sign of Marshall.

It looks like a divorce, and oftentimes because of the stigma, folks said they were widowed.
