Hello;
I am the wife of George Mathew Meranda and I have been trying to put together the history of his family here on the coast. I also live in Fort Bragg on the coast and have been looking for proof of some of the things and adventures that this family has had here. I know from A.J. and Johnnie Gray before they died that Mathew's field at camp one was named for my husband when he was little. His father and grandfather were very active in the logging from Usal to Albion and also in crops of beans and alfalfa. They also cut and bailed hay for many other people in the area. From Pollys at Albion, to Todds point, to Hattie Frasiers at Sea Side, and many many more. I have alot of photos of the area from the early 1900's to date. Some show Main Street as just a dirt path with horses and carriages on it. We also have photos of the Parade's from the late 1940s and on. I don't know all of the people in the photos and as they were from the first half of the 1900s and most all of our family members are no longer living. It makes it harder to identify some of the people.I would love to talk with you about any information I can get!!! ThankyouJo Meranda
