Am searching Nels Peterson & Anna Marie Bartelson. If this is your family, I would be very happy to exchange whatever information that I have. Nels & Anna are my great grandparents...
Nels was born in Denmark & came to the U.S. in 1872, lived with his uncle in San Francisco, where he learned the meat business. Later he went to San Francisco & operated a livery stable for a time.
He married Anna Marie Bartelson, also a native of Denmark in 1882 in Cuffeys Cove, Mendocino Co. After their marriage, they moved to Seattle, Washington where he opened the first Bell Town Meat Market for 2 years. Later he had a very successful logging business around the Bothell, Washington area.
They had 7 children:
Anna Johanna (my grandmother), Lillie Diamond, Oscar R., B. Blaine, Earl O. (Oscar), Harry O., and Neva C. Peterson.
