Did check 1900 census records S.F. for Hennessy and found the following: Thomas Hennessy of 16 1/2 Bernice St., died 10/21/1887 age 39. Native of Limerick, Ireland (San Francisco Obituarys). He was buried Holy Cross Cemetery, San Franciso Lot # DVS2ag113. Winnifred buried: Holy Cross, San Francisco, CA (no grave marker)Lot # DVS2ag113 Conflicting records: Winifred, Edna, brother John and Head of house John Ashby living at 712 Tehama St., San Francisco (June 1 1900 census). Records show that they married in 1893. Winnie born 1860 came to the states @ 19 in 1881 (or with brother when she was 14-16) from Ireland.. Had 7 children, 4 still alive in 1900. John Hennessey b. 1883, Aug. and Edna Oct. 1886 (this is not the same date that is listed on her death certificate.) These are the only children listed living with them on census. "This means that Winnie either came to the US already married or ?????" Family recolation says Marie Hennessy was given away to some people as an infant because her mother Winnifred Pugh Hennessy could not care for her and she married a John Pugh who lived in both San Francisco and San Anselmo CA. This is only exact death dates for the Marinites and it came from Social Security Death Index. John J.Pugh Jr. b August 12, 1909 (California Birth Index 1905-1910) d.April 1978 Fairfax Marin County CA.(Social Security Death Index) His father John J. Pugh (husband of Marie Hennessy)(1900 Soundex CA Census)was a Clerk at Summer & Koffmans, Greary St., San Francisco, CA while living at 121 Lyon St., San Francisco, CA in 1934. After that time they lived in San Anselmo, CA. Obituaries would most likely be a big help.. Cathy do you have a connection or any information on this family? Notify Administrator about this message?
