Hi,

I looked at the 1940 Troy, Perry, Indiana Census and found Darwin was married to a Lesla. That Census was enumberated April 30-May 1, 1940.

I'd look for Darwin's marriage license to Joy in Perry County after May 1 or even in to 1940. If you look under his name, you should find the license which should contain her previous married name.

I'm not familiar with where you look in Perry Co. but if you post the query on their Message Board, hopefully someone will provide you that info. Successful Searching!
