I found some information on Adelia Conger at the Library today. She was born Dec. 7, 1871 In Iola Kansas and died Jan 26 1899 in Garberville, California. Here is the information from the Obituary records 1864-1911:
Conger, Alice died 26 Jan 1899 in Garberville. Buried Garberville cemetery. Age 27 years, 1 mo 20 days. born Kansas
Cause of death tuberculosis.

I found a two page writeup on the Charles W. Conger family in "The Southern Humboldt Papers". Alice was Charles Conger's second wife. Her father was Jackson Ross Barr and her mother was Mary Ann Kidd Barr. She had one daughter Alma. They moved from Oregon to Garberville in a wagon train that took 36 days for the trip. They made a bed in a surry with a fringe on the top for the ailing Alice. The move was for her health but she never recovered.

If you want the copy of the story, send me your mailing address privately and I will send it to you.
