Seth or Boynton Cheney

My g-g-grandfather appears to have lived in Humboldt Co. He sold land in Eureka in 1860, is listed in the June 1, 1860 census, joined the militia in 1864, possibly married Palina Emily (Stone) Huden. She was previously married to George Huden (cousin of John Soper) and possibly a Mr. Messenger. George took off for the gold fields. He and Emily had a son, Henry. Boynton is listed in the 1870 census of Humboldt Co in the Bald Hills, Hydesville post office area. He was living with A.D. Lassell, Emily and Henry Cheney. On 3 Nov 1879, Boynton Cheney's land patents were delivered to H. W. McClellan. Boynton Cheney is in the 1880 Census in Claredon, Donley Co. Texas.

Does anyone have information about any of the people mentioned?
Thanks,
Ronda
