Mountain Democrat Placerville, El Dorado, California 15 Feb 2001 Services were held Feb. 12 for Paul Leroy Westerman He was born in Three Forks, Montana, on Dec. 15, 1924. Mr. Westerman was a highly decorated. World War, II veteran, he served in the 82nd Airborne and the 517th parachute battalion, earning a Silver Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Award and Bronze Star as a paratrooper in southern France. After the war, Mr. Westerman spent the. next 50 years traveling throughout the Northwestern United States as a lineman and member of the I.B.E.W.#124. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cribbage, completing word search puzzles, crafting wooden yard decorations for the holidays and relaxing in his home. He was a member of the; American Legion of Foreign wars, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Light of the Hills Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his son "Butch" Paul Leroy Westerman. He is survived by his wife, Nelda Westerman, his sons, Robert Earl Westerman, Shawn Paul Burke, his daughters, Kelly Marie Ast, and Denise Diane O'Malley, his sisters Marie Tinder, Jean Brown and Pearl Myron, his brother, Jim Westerman, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
