Leslie 'B' Carroll
Oct. 8, 1921 - Nov. 19, 2004 Les died at home on November 19, 2004, with his wife Grace at his side. Les was the last child of Lilly Masters Carroll and Michael Carroll, both of whom preceded him in death.
Les and Grace have lived in Antioch for 36 years. Les was a master jeweler and had worked at Mayer's Jewelers for 28 years before he opened Les's Clock Shop where he specialized in restoring grandfather clocks and repairing watches.
Les had been active in the Antioch Police Department Neighborhood Watch Program. Les and Grace square-danced for years in Antioch. He loved to ride the sloughs in a boat and traveling around the country in his van.
Les served in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He became a jeweler after the war, and worked at Hartung's Jewelers in Grass Valley before moving to Antioch.
Les was a kind and loving man who endeared himself as much to his stepchildren as his own children. He always had a kind word for friends, relatives or strangers, and he always wanted to help as many people as he could. Les will be deeply missed by his friends and relatives.
Les is survived by his wife of 43 years, Grace; two children, John (Brenda) Carroll and Elaine Carroll of Santa Rosa, California; a stepdaughter, Cathy (Bob) Flowers of Grand Junction, Colorado; and a stepson, Bill (Stephanie) Martz of Folsom, California; and two grandchildren, Tiffany and Dennis Martz.
A memorial service will be held for Les's family and friends on Monday, November 29, 2004, at 12:00 p.m. at Higgins Chapel, 1310 A Street in Antioch, with public visitation from 9:00 a.m. to noon the same day.
