WELL, THIS INFO WAS FROM OLD DALLAS CITY, ILLINOIS NEWSPAPERS, HE WAS CALLED "Jack" "Coot" Welch, was I believe called Pontoosuc Constable, and helped capture a bunch of Mormons who our old settlers were fighting.I'd be glad to mail you a copy if you want to send me your mailing address.Unfortunately I don't have a picture of him.I still believe Richard was a son, but may have died before the parents.He was living next door to him on 1860 census of Colusa County, California.Richard went out to California goldrush I suppose, with the Graham boys, also of this military company.A Graham and Richard Welch made the trip back to Dallas City or Pontoosuc to marry their girlfriends and took them back to California.But Richard died young and the wife remarried.
