Thank you for your extensive research on John Mecum & family. I'm trying to find out information on his second marriage to Sarah which took place sometime after 1880 I believe. Her maiden name was Pope and she was my gg aunt. I'm assuming she was also a widow because it seems unlikely that a single woman would have traveled from either WI or NE where her family lived to CA or the Indian Territory. (Not sure if she & John D. were married in CA or Indian Territory- just know they came back to CA sometime after 1900. He died in CA in 1904 or 1905)
Unfortunately I have no idea of who her first husband may have been. I was hoping there might be some source of marriages in Colusa Co. that would list the marriage of Sarah ? to John D. Mecum so that I could find the last name of her first husband.
I appreciate your taking the time to send me all the information on John D. Mecum's family.
