Early Letts in Califirnia Posted by: Mary Ann Jones Date: February 15, 1999 at 22:15:58 of 2426 Cousin Phyllis gave me a clue which helped me find the following info on two brothers named Jack & David Lett: CAL-PARKS HOME http://ohp.cal-parks.ca.gov/landmarks/colusa.htm COLUSA COUNTY NO. 736 LETTS VALLEY This valley was settled in 1855 by Jack and David Lett. The present lake spillway is the site of a tunnel that they built to facilitate drainage. The brothers were killed in 1877 in an attempt to prevent squatters from settling on their land. Letts Lake Campground, Fouts Springs Rd (18N01), 18.5 mi SW of Stonyford ************ The Colusa Co., CA Newspaper has a few articles about these two brothers in CA during the mid-1870s'. Can anyone connect with them? Have sent for the news article and will share when received. Notify Administrator about this message?
