Mosquito Gulch - now Glencoe - ELDRED. CLARK. RUTHERFORD

Can anyone tell me any early stories about Mosquito Gulch/now Glencoe in Calaveras County?

I know that, in the mid-late 1800's, Mumford ELDRED had some kind of a business there. Just WHERE was it located?
His dau., Dora, md. Warren V. CLARK, Sr. of the Railroad Flat area as Warren's 2nd wife. His son Warren Vester CLARK, Jr. md. Cora Samantha LEWIS as his 2nd wife. This family was connected to the RUTHERFORD family which settled in the Railroad Flat area in the early 1900's.

The CLARKs and ELDREDs had relatives in the Kalamazoo area of Michigan and may have come from there. Warren CLARK, Sr. had a mining ditch in that area in the 1800's. His son

Would like to contact anyone with information on these two families.

Dolores Rutherford (near Sacramento)
