BLUE MOUNTAIN DISTRICT -- Mr. John HECKENDORN -- formerly “old Heck” and “uncle Heck,” when an editor -- a few days since passed through Jackson for San Francisco, with some very rich silver-bearing rock from the mine at Blue Mountain, Calaveras county, for assay. He informed the editor of the ‘Dispatch’ that his company disposed of a share at a sacrifice ($5,000) in order to raise means to prosecute work on their claim but they have no desire to sell more stock for less than $200 per foot; that Blue Mountain City is growing rapidly; that 2 large hotels will be opened within a few weeks, and that the place is destined to become one of the most flourishing camps in Calaveras county.
