>>TUESDAY, 11 NOV 1862<<

SUPPOSED SUICIDE -- Henry SLAUDMAN, of Mokelumne Hill, was found dead in his bed, near that place, on Sunday morning, under circumstances which induce the opinion that he committed suicide. In the bed with the dead man was a pistol which had been discharged. On the 18th of September, SLAUDMAN was forced into a fight with one Thomas FLINN, who beat and otherwise abused him, and whom SLAUDMAN shot dead. For this he was acquitted of all wrong by the judiciary, he having acted entirely in self-defense; but it is thought by his friends that the weight of the homicide so pressed upon his conscience that he was driven to suicide. On the other hand, it is believe by many that the deceased was not a suicide, but that he was murdered by some of the friends of FLINN. SLAUDMAN was buried on Sunday by the Firemen of Mokelumne Hill.
