Hi my name is Stephanie Hammond.I was born on November 8,1952 to Mary Josephine Clifford and Steve L. Hammond.Both now deceased. I know very little about my father's family.I have guessed from my birth certificate that he was born around 1912.My dad was murdered in 1963.It was just before my 11th birthday that he died.I only have a few first names of his family members,I am not sure how they are all connected to each other.They are as follows: Chick,Beulah,Virgie,and Red.Chick and Red are only knicknames,for who I don't know.The Hammonds were not a close knit family.Except for my love for my father I have never considered myself a Hammond. I have always considered myself as a Clifford, my mother's family.The Cliifords were the family of my maternal grandfather and the Clarks were the family of my maternal grandmother.They are the only family that I have ever known and loved.However my children want to know about their ancestors and family heritage.So it is for their sakes that I undertake this quest.In closing I will be grateful or any information at all.I guess that I may have forgotten to mention that my father's people may have at one time lived in Butte County,maybe some of them still do.
