HOPELESSLY LOST FAMILY ORIGIN PLEASE HELP! NC>AL>TN>MO>CA>OR.
Surnames: Robinson, Ray, Mayfield, Nunn, Vawter, and Jones.
Locations: Orange Co. North Carolina, Lauderdale County, Alabama, Harrison County,
Tennessee, Bedford County, Tennessee, Williamson County Tennessee, Marshall County
Tennessee, Wright County Missouri, Oroville, Butte County, California, and Rogue River
Oregon.
I am searching for information on John ROBINSON and his wife Martha RAY, their parents, and
children and their families. I would also, really like to gather more information on the RAY side of
this family to support the information I already have. It is my hope that by placing this message
on these boards, someone out there with a small scrap of information will see this message and
contact me. The best way I can envision to start this despaired search for information is to tell
you what I know and go from there. I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance. The

1. JOHN4 ROBINSON (DAVID3, MICHAEL2, WILLIAM1) was born WFT Est. 1780 in Orange
Co. North Carolina, and died October 04, 1841 in Marshall or Bedford County, Tennessee. He
married (1) MARTHA RAY. She was born Abt. 1795. She died WFT Est. 1765-1790.

In the book “Fifteen Southern Families” a letter is profiled from Mary Robinson Nunn to her
brother James Robinson dated June, 1840, and addressed to Lauderdale Alabama. The family is
listed in the book, "Nunn’s of The South, Beginning of a Very Large Family.” Information credit
Ms. Fannie Suffel of Tow, TX.
Fact 1: Died: while participating in the gold rushes of the era 1849-1890s.
Fact 2: Listed In the census of 1850 of Wright Co. Mo. as being in Hiram Green Nunn
Household.
Fact 3: Could Have Died 1869.
