I'm searching for Straughan descendants in the Chico/Butte Co. area. My gr-gr-grandfather, George Bell Straughan, lived in Virginia & West Virginia before moving to California. He died in San Francisco, his obit. was in the Examiner on July 2, 1905 p26, "STRAUGHAN-In this city, July 1; George Straughan, brother of William Straughan and Mrs. Crawford of Chico, Cal., a native of England, aged 73 years. **Remains at the parlors of Porter & White, 423 Golden Gate Ave." Does anyone have information on the descendants of William Straughan or his sister Mrs. Crawford? George might have been on his way to Australia. The Straughans were from Durham, Northumberland, England. Thanks, Bob Miller
