Crawford Caldwell and family

I am searching for information about Crawford Caldwell and his descendants.
In 1907 one of Crawford's nephews in Andrews Co., MO., wrote a family history about six orphans from County Down, Ireland who made their way to America ca 1800, settling in Ross Co., OH. Crawford was born there in 1817 to the eldest of these siblings, John Caldwell. The family moved to Noble Co., IN in 1833 but all moved on before 1850. Crawford may have followed his eldest brother, Wm., to Andrews Co., MO but, according to the history, he moved on to CA where he died and where his family remained.
We have found a 1870 census entry for Diamond Spring,El Dorado Co., CA:
CALDWELL, Crawford, 52, M, W, physician, b.OH, father born foreign country
Emily, 39, F, b. PA
Ida E., 12, F, b. CA
Josephine L. 6,F, b. CA
Mary C. 4, F, b. CA
James W, 2, M, b.CA
Headman, Christopher, 66, miner, b. RI

Amador Co. OBITS: In Plymouth, 25 Jun 1878, Crawford Caldwell, a native of OH, aged 59 yrs.

1880 Plymouth, Amador Co, CA Census
CALDWELL, Emily,widow, 49, b. PA
