Alice Delcina Kittell is my Great Grand Mother
First this is what I do know about her. She was born on 17 Sep 1861 in Sheffield, Franklin County, Iowa. Her first marriage at age 19 was to my Great Grand Father, Edgar Nicols Melvin on 8 Aug 1881 in Ula, Custer County, Colorado. I do not know why she left Iowa for Colorado or why he left Maryland for Colorado except I believe Edgar Melvin final destination was Oregon.
She had a total of six children with Edgar Melvin. The first one was Edna Ethel Melvin born on 18 Mar 1882 in Wet Mountain Valley, Colorado. The second one, my Grand Father, Eugene Edgar Melvin, was born on 18 Jun 1884 in Pocomoke City, Worcester County, Maryland. Her third child was Elizabeth Esther Melvin born on 23 Mar 1888 in Franklin County, Iowa. The fourth, fifth and six children were all born in what is now known as Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon in 1890, 1893 and 1900. In 1906, after 25 years of marriage, Alice had enough homesteading and petition to have her marriage annul.
The next time I find her is 1920 in Los Angles, California with a William Edgar Songer. By now she lied about her age by 21 years and misspelled her last name (Sanger). I have not found her 2nd marriage certificate. A couple years later they both moved north to Oakland, California and she shows up in the 1930 US Census records. She died on 6 Oct 1930 and I believed she is buried in Portland Oregon with her first husband. I do have her death certificate. William Edgar Songer died on 30 Jan 1949 in San Joaquin County, California.
What I am looking for is twofold. First anything about her while she was in Colorado and second who are her parents.
