Steve
I have only just found this forum and was interested in your posting. I am writing from England.
Three of my grandmothers siblings emigrated to California at the beginning of this century.Their surname was MARTIN. I have traced the sister Evelyn but have very little information on the brothers Ernest and Albert. I do know that Albert died in Hayward aged 93 and that he may have had 4 wives!! He was born sometime in the 1880s (Ihave the details but they are not to hand) and would be of an age to be your Arthurs father or even possibly grandfather. Do you know anything of Arthur's parentage?

If anyone else out there can throw any light on other MARTINs of hayward please contact me. I have a lot of information on their ancestry.

thanks
