Early California death certificates very much resemble more recent death certificates in that there is a place to list the parents of the deceased. These fields may or may not be filled out depending on how much information the informant had at the time.

This also may or may not be the same certificate that can be obtained from the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder's Office.

Were you looking to get a death certificate through the state or through the county?
