Robert John Joaquin
ROBERT JOHN JOAQUIN Of Castro Valley, born in Hayward on January 7, 1941, passed away on April 12, 2006. A resident of Castro Valley for 27 years and San Leandro for 38 years. Beloved and devoted husband of Lavana S. Joaquin for 46 years. They were married on September 12, 1959. Bob and Lavana were high school sweethearts. They met in June of 1955 when they were both 14 years old. He was a San Leandro boy and she was a San Lorenzo girl. Bob had two children, Robert Joseph (Robby) Joaquin and his wife, Jeanne of San Lorenzo, and Rochelle Jeanine (Shelley) Joaquin of Hayward. Eight grandsons, Robert J.H., Robert J., Richard J. Joaquin, Michael O., Ryan D. Myrick and Anthony, Tyler, and Tanner Machado. Bob's twin sister, Patricia M. Rebello of San Leandro and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Bob was a loyal Teamster for over 46 years of Teamster Local 70. Bob retired from Pacific Steel of San Leandro in April 1995. He loved his family very much; he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His grandsons were known as "The Animals". He loved visiting Hawaii every year with his wife. A great and caring man who had many friends that knew they could all count on him for anything. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends are invited to attend the visitation at Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave. San Leandro, CA on Friday April 14th beginning at 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Bob's life will be on Saturday, April 15, 2006 beginning at 10:00 a.m. also at the mortuary.
