Kitty: See my message regarding Moses and Frank Eastman, posted today, 30 Dec 2000.

It reads: Seeking information about Moses H. Eastman and Frank G. Eastman, sons of Adah Freeman and Enos Eastman and resident in Oakland in 1886.

A petition to settle the estate of Theodocia Freeman Shaw (d. 19 April 1886 at Madrid, St. Lawrence County, NY) lists Moses and Frank as two of the only eight next of kin known at its filing on 18 June 1886. Other identified kin include Noble Freeman Beloit, KS and Munson Freeman, River Falls, WI, brothers of Theodocia and uncles of Moses H. and Frank G. Eastman, along with Laura Abbott, North Springfield, MO, Charlotte Ayer, Omaha, NE, Ellen Schaft, NYC, NY and Edward Freeman, the petitioner, of Madrid, NY.

The brothers, born in St. Lawrence County, NY, were two of eight Eastman children and were known to be living in Oakland in 1886. Their mother is listed on the 1865 US Census as 70 years old and resident in Madrid, NY. Her household included her widowed daughter, Laura Eastman Dillingham, obviously a sister of Moses and Frank.

I will gratefully receive and appreciate any supplied information about this family. I have abundant information on the Freeman family and am willing to share this with interested parties.
