The 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses show that Horace Preston was born in about 1780.
He came to Waterford, Washington County, OH, where he purchased a mill site. This was the same 118 acre property he sold on June 6, 1832. At that time, he was found in Franklin County, OH, and his son, Obediah S. Preston, witnessed his signature.
On March 18,1835, Horace married Angeline Byrum in Washington County, OH.
The 1840 Bloom Township, Morgan County, OH, census shows the "1780" Horace Preston with his younger wife, and a daughter "under five".
Does anyone know the name of this daughter?
Does anyone know where the 1780 Horace died?
Most report that Horace died in "1828". If he was dead, how did his son, Obediah S. Preston, witness his signature in 1832?
If Horace was dead in 1828, how could he marry Angeline Bryum in 1835? Is there anyone out there who can help me with this mystery?
