Two men named Bynes settle two Michigan counties

Thomas Byrnes was one of the first non-Native Americans to settle Oceana County, Michigan in 1849. Daniel K. Byrnes was one of the first people to settle Cass County, Michigan. Are these two Byrnes men related?
