There is always a possibility. My grand-father's brother, Harry (Henry F), born abt. 1857, was married twice. Don't know the first wife's name but they had at least one child named Florence, b. 12 May 1894. May have had some male children also. Mable (?) was wife number 2. They had at least one child named Ethel born about 1904. In the late 1920s, both Florence and Ethel were still unmarried. Harry was an artist. They lived in the Morrisiana section of the Bronx. I know nothing else about them.
The parents of Thomas,Harry, David and William (others tenatively identified) were Edward (Edwin) Byrnes and Mary (Margaret) Mahoney both born in Ireland 1820-1830. On different documents, both pairs of the names were used. Some of the older children were born in Ireland, several of the sons served in the Civil War. Edward (Edwin) had a brother named Thomas whose family also lived in the Bronx. The younger children of Tom and Harry's generation were born in NY City.

Thanks for answering my inquiry. JBW
