This is what I have about Rebecca Byrd and my relative Elizabeth Byrd.
"Pioneer John" Byrd and Margaret Dean had several children including Elizabeth Byrd, who married my direct ancestor, George John Sawyer, born 1755.Elizabeth's brother was your ancestor as well, "Indian John" D. Byrd, born 1748, would have been the boy that escaped after six years. He married Mary Ann Hamilton and they had a son, John C. Byrd who married Rebecca Ann Hamilton White and their son was William Wallace Byrd, born 1822, and his daughter was Rebecca I. Byrd, born July 25, 1851.
Augusta Co., Indian Wars 1756:
"John Byrd killed by Indians, Sept. 12 - 14, 1756.Wife and six children taken captive."They remain for six years before any are released.
"May 10, 1765, Shawanese Indians release female captive age six, "Nalupua" Byrd, sister of Molly Byrd."
If you have more information, such as the father of Rebecca's to check records with, or other info on her, I may be able to do a better search.I am still searching for more information on O B Gordon. Is it possible OB stands for Obadiah or 'Obie'?
