I am a desendant of Rev. Jeremiah Horn. Would like to work out some kinks in our Byrd/Horn line we seem to be working on:
Randall Byrd, you said:

Donnie, I might be able to tie the Byrds and Horns together for you. I am descended from Samuel Byrd b.4 Mar 1814 in AL, son of David Byrd of TN. Samuel married Elizabeth Horn, daughter of Wm. Jeremiah Horn. Wm. J Horn was a circuit riding Methodist minister that was working with the Cherokee indians in Georgia prior to the indian removals. He moved his family to OK in 1834 and then to Collin Co., TX prior to 1848. Samuel and Elizabeth lived in AL and moved to Texas around 1855. Samuel died around 1857 and Elizabeth and children lived near her father. it is believed that several of Samuel's brothers and families went on to Calif.
Email me if any of this sounds familiar."
Things I note that I found differently: 1. I had Samuel Byrd husband of Elizabeth Horn to have been born April 14, 1814 in Madison Cty., AL. [source Wanda Elliott, [email protected] ]. Can you share the source that shows that date to be March 4, 1814? I only have a 2nd level source of Wanda Elliott, heavy Emmit Starr researcher. 2. I have Elizabeth Horn daughter ofRev. Jeremiah Horn. [source: Collin County, Texas, Families, By Alice Ellison Pitts, Minnie Pitts Champ, 1994, Curtis Media, Hurst Texas ISBN: 0-8107-246-X, Pg. 69, Byrd, Samuel Zedock F102, "...to join Elizabeth's father, Reverend Jeremiah Horn". I have many 1st level census's, legal documents, and do not show Jeremiah Horn to have a first name other than Jeremiah. Can you give me the source that shows his name to be William Jeremiah Horn? 3. I do not show Rev. Jeremiah Horn to have been in Oklahoma in the 1830's,[source: Collin County, Texas, Families, By Alice Ellison Pitts, Minnie Pitts Champ, 1994, Curtis Media, Hurst Texas ISBN: 0-8107-246-X, Pg. 69, Byrd, Samuel Zedock F102, "...Reverend Horn had been tending his Texas congregation since 1845.". Can you share the source that says he was in Oklahoma first? Thank you!
